The jury of the ICCC 2023 is introducing.

Jurymitglied: Howard Arman

Howard Arman

Howard Arman received his musical education at the Trinity College of Music in London before soon expanding his sphere of activity internationally. He conducted highly acclaimed productions at opera houses throughout Europe, Asia and America. He was honored with the Handel Prize in 1996 for his work in reorganizing the Halle Handel Festival Orchestra. Arman was Music Director at Altenburg-Gera, where he conducted productions ranging from baroque opera to Wagner's Tristan und Isolde 

From 2011 to 2016, he was Music Director of the Lucerne Theater. As principal guest conductor at the Theater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, he conducted works such as Puccini's Tosca and La Bohème as well as operetta, concert and musical - including the German-language premiere of the Monty Python musical Life of Brian. 

He was Artistic Director of the MDR Rundfunkchor until 2013 and, from 2016 to 2022, Artistic Director of the Bayerischer Rundfunkchor. Howard Arman's extensive discography includes multiple award-winning recordings, including Rachmaninoff's Das große Abend- und Morgenlob and Graun's Der Tod Jesu, both of which won Echo Klassik awards. His own completion of Mozart's Requiem appeared on CD in 2019. 

Howard Arman held a professorship in Conducting at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts until 2020. His vocal music and editions of works, as well as numerous arrangements for choir and symphony orchestra, are published by such publishers as Breitkopf und Härtel, Ries und Erler, and Carus.
