Mother's Day Concert with the Südwestpfälzer Children's & Youth Choir on 8 May at the Bavarian Music Academy
Concert to mark the start of the 17th International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf 2022
To kick off the 17th International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf 2022, the Südwestpfälzer Children's & Youth Choir will traditionally perform on Mother's Day, 8 May 2022, from 2.30 pm in the Richard Wengenmeier Hall of the Bavarian Music Academy. Afterwards, from 3.30 pm, MODfestivals invites you to a joint Mother's Day celebration with coffee and cake in the foyer. In addition, all mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers will receive a small surprise. Admission is free, donations are requested.
The Südwestpfälzer Children's Choir Münchweiler/Rod. was founded in 1967 by the music teacher Bernhard Haßler as a school choir. In the meantime, the choir is directed by Christoph Haßler. The choir's extraordinary commitment is reflected in regular concerts. The choir's high level of performance is confirmed by the fact that it has won prizes at national and international competitions. The choir participates in concerts and festivals throughout Europe and beyond in Argentina.
The choir's director, Christoph Haßler, is a full-time teacher at the State Study Seminar for Primary Schools in Kaiserslautern. He began his musical career as a child in the Südwestpfälzer Kinderchor. He is a welcome guest at choir festivals and competitions with the Südwestpfälzer Kinderchor and the women's chamber choir ex-semble, which he founded, and has won several first prizes. At the Marktoberdorf International Chamber Choir Competition, he won second prize with ex-semble.
