Every two years since 1989, the international choral scene has met in Marktoberdorf over Whitsun for one of the world's most renowned competitions for chamber choirs. In eighteen competitions to date, over 250 choirs from almost 50 countries have shown what choral music has to offer today in exciting competitions and extraordinary concerts. Both professional and amateur audiences are always enthusiastic. The 19th Marktoberdorf International Chamber Choir Competition will take place from 6 to 10 June 2025. The selection committee is currently meeting to determine which choirs will qualify for next year's competition. With a total of 25 applications - from Indonesia to the USA and Germany - there has been a significant increase in the number of participants, which is a return to the pre-corona era.

However, you can already secure tickets now as the perfect Christmas present for festival and music enthusiasts. From 2 December, the ‘Winter Special’ festival pass will be available at a special price. Instead of the normal price of 160 euros (reduced price 125 euros), the ‘Winter Special’ festival pass is available until 31 January 2025 for just 100 euros (reduced price 80 euros), saving you 60 euros. With the festival pass, you can watch the entire competition as well as all concerts of the 19th Marktoberdorf International Chamber Choir Competition 2025 from 6 to 10 June.
