Sponsoring association gives young people insights into international cultural management
The Förderverein Internationaler Chorbegegnungen im Allgäu e.V. held its annual general meeting last week in Marktoberdorf. In addition to a review and outlook on the International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf, Ramona Wegenast, the managing director of MODfestivals e.V., introduced the new employee Franziska Schrägle. The 18-year-old from Seeg already gained choir experience in the upper school choir of the Füssen grammar school, where she graduated with her Abitur. She is also active in the Trachtenverein D'Lobachtaler Seeg and wants to use the volunteer year at MODfestivals for intensive career orientation.
She is completing her "Voluntary Social Year in Culture" (FSJK) in the festival office. For one year, she will work in the organisation of the Marktoberdorf International Chamber Choir Competition. The position is made possible by the Sponsors' Association, which provides the funding. "We are pleased not only to promote culture and international cultural exchange, but also to give a young person an insight into a possible future profession," emphasises Markus Ferber, MEP and 1st Chairman of the Förderverein.
The Förderverein Internationaler Chorbegegnungen im Allgäu e.V., founded in 1999, promotes intercultural encounters in the Allgäu choral world and supports in particular the Marktoberdorf Whitsun Festival "Musica Sacra International" and the "International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf".
Treasurer Alex Wayandt and auditor Fred Dangelmaier were pleased to confirm that Sparkasse Allgäu will again be the main sponsor for the 2023 festival. Anyone who cares about cultural diversity in Marktoberdorf and the Allgäu and who wants to support and ensure the preservation of the festivals in the long term can join the sponsoring association. Information can be found on the internet at www.kammerchorwettbewerb.org.
