New: Sing-along concert! Anyone can join in.

In just a few days, the 19th International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf will start from June 6 to 10, 2025. In an exciting competition and extraordinary concerts, the choirs can show what choral music has to offer today. In addition, there will be a very varied supporting program in the marquee next to the MODEON and around it.

There will also be an innovation - an “Open Singing”. The sing-along concert will take place on Monday, June 9 at 1 p.m. in the marquee next to the MODEON under the direction of renowned choirmaster Jan Schumacher (Frankfurt). The “Open Singing” is aimed at choir singers as well as people interested in singing with and without previous experience. The focus is on having fun together. By selecting pieces from all styles, new music can be discovered and performed directly. The moderator will be Bernhard van Almsick, artistic and educational director of the Bavarian Music Academy Marktoberdorf, who will also accompany on the piano.

Participation is free and possible without prior registration. Just come along, sing along and have fun. The sing-along concert takes place in cooperation with the Bavarian Music Academy Marktoberdorf and the Bavarian-Swabian Choral Association and with the kind support of Carus Verlag.
