The jury of the ICCC 2011 introduces itself

Jurymitglied: Chen Yun Hung

Chen Yun Hung

CEO/Artistic Director of Taiwan Choral Music Center and Artistic Director of Taipei Chamber Singers, Chen Yun Hung Graduated with Excellence from the Conducting, die Hochshule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Wien in 1991, obtained the Master’s degree in Music Education at the Westminster Choir College in 1998, USA. She has dedicated herself to the art for choral performance in Taiwan.

Chen Yun Hung has taken choirs to perform international competitions in many countries, and has also been the recipient of many awards and honors: In 1994, she with Taipei Chamber Singers won gold, silver, and bronze medals in the 42nd Guido d’Arezzo International Choir Competition and later in 2005, won first gold medal in the 4th International Johannes Brahms Choral Competition in Germany, where she was awarded Best Conductor at this competition as well. In 2006, she took them to the Béla Bartók International Choir Competition in Hungary, where they also won the Grand Prize. She was again awarded Best Conductor and was invited to be a judge in the 2008 competition as a result.

In recent years, Chen was often invited as judicator in the international choral competitions.

In 2007, Chen was invited to be a judge at the Florilège Vocal de Tours International Choral Competition. In 2008, she was invited to be a judge at the 2008 Hong Kong International Choral Youth Festival Competition. In 2010, she was also invited to be a judge at the Singapore Youth Festival 2010 and a judge at the 2010 Orientale Concentus III.

Chen has given herself a mission to develop contemporary choral music and connect with the international choral world.
