International Masterclass for Choral Conductors (12th - 16th June 2019)

International Masterclass for Choral Conductors

The International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf is known as one of the world’s most renowned competitions for chamber choirs. The Masterclass will be held directly following the competition. In this way, the musical impressions and experiences of the competition may contribute to the seminar.

 

Target group

The Masterclass is aimed at all choral conductors who wish to improve their skills and knowledge at the highest level with outstanding teachers. Participants must have the relative experience of choral conducting. We kindly ask you to send us a short list of previous conducting experiences. A maximum of 25 active participants will be admitted.

  • Conducting techniques
  • vocal training
  • intensive rehearsal of works prepared before the seminar
  • Getting to know new scores
  • Contact to other choir conductors around the world
  • Presentation concert of the new repertoire and scores at the end of the seminar

The scores will be provided for downloading to participants after admission to the course..

 

Language

Seminar languages are English and German.

 

Arrival: Wednesday, 12th June 2019 by 1 pm (first meal: dinner)
Departure: Sunday, 16th June 2019 after breakfast (9am)

 

Participating fee and benefits Masterclass

Four days incl. seminar fee, full board and accommodation in double-, three- or four-bed rooms in the Bavarian Music Academy Marktoberdorf: 310.- Euro; (reduced: 180.- Euro)

Combined package International Masterclass and International Chamber Choir Competition

The 16th International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf will be held from 7th to 12th June 2019. 14 of the world’s best amateur choirs present their competition programmes adjudicated by internationally experienced jurors. Concerts and further events are an important part of the festival. You are invited to combine the participation in the Masterclass with visiting the International Chamber Choir Competition.

 

Participating fee and content of the International Chamber Choir Competition:

Five days incl. basic accommodation in double-, three- or four-bed rooms, breakfast, lunch and dinner together with the choir singers in the festival tent and a festival pass that allows entrance to all festival events: 280.- Euro; (reduced: 230.- Euro). This offer is only valid in conjunction with a participation in the Masterclass.
